Step 1: Gather Your Materials
A vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment.
Cornstarch or baking soda.
A soft-bristled brush.
A lint roller.
Step 2: Vacuum Gently
Normally, we begin by gently vacuuming the stuffed animal with the hose attachment. In Malaysia, the weather is almost always very humid and constantly heaty.
So, stuffed animals and other ocunterparts will trap more dust and moisture than usual. By doing this, it will help to remove all these impurities.
Step 3: Apply Cornstarch or Baking Soda
We sprinkle cornstarch or baking soda over the stuffed animal. We know that powders act as natural cleaners and deodorizers.
Some let the powder sit for about 30 minutes but we have cleaned over hundreds of toys over the years in our business.
So usually a you'd need longer timeframe like an hour to let it sit on the toy itself.
Step 4: Brush Off the Powder
It is not neccessary to use a soft-bristled brush. We use a new cleaned toothbrush by gently brushing off the cornstarch or baking soda from the stuffed animal.
The most important thing is that you need to be thorough to remove all the powder.
Step 5: Use a Lint Roller
For any remaining dust or powder, use a lint roller. This step will help clean off any residue and make the stuffed animal look neat.
Step 6: Air it Out
Finally, let the stuffed animal air out in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. This helps eliminate any leftover odors.
